Subject: Oldies but goodies
Could have been a great movie but too much was cut out or wasn't copied. Looked for the book in my library but not there, might be found in intra library loan system. Sounds like a good read.

Subject: Good Flick
Good acting, good dialog, and a fast pace make this unsolvable murder mystery entertaining. Irene Ware is stunningly beautiful as well as a good actress. The movie's negatives are that there are missing frames throughout which makes for much unintelligible dialog, and that there is no music.

I downloaded the 512Kb MPEG4 file. Aside from the chopped up dialog, audio and video are Ok.

Subject: Clues, clues, clues!
A C-minus drama and a B-plus who-done-it with more legitimate suspects than you can count. Fast paced with a ton of clues. If you're adding them up, pay close attention to everything, though you'll probably come to my conclusion that everybody did it. Well, I was wrong. This isn't "Murder on the Orient Express." An okay cast features the lovely Irene Ware and future venomous gossip columnist Hedda Hopper. E. E. Clive of "Bulldog Drummond" fame appears as the butler. With more than one murder to solve, who-done-it hounds will have fun sinking their teeth into this second-feature quickie. This is a very glitchy print with many soundtrack cutouts. Fortunately enough of the dialog is intact to make sense of the proceedings. CAST NOTES: At age sixteen, Irene Ware was Miss United Stares for 1926. Hedda Hopper tried to suppress the release of "Citizen Kane" to protect her personal friend William Randolph Hearst. She also was a close friend of J. Edgar Hoover. Her associations and resulting access to dirt made her one of the most powerful and feared columnists of the '40s and '50s.

Subject: Quick wrapup
This is a fast-moving, lively flick. Lots of suspects, two clever sleuths, a no-nonsense detective yarn with a quick, surprising ending. A better-than-midrange B-movie.

Subject: Odd little flick
Setting:old dark house. Elsa fears her uncles intend to do her harm so calls detectives Landis and Bernard. They come upon the body of Elsa's Uncle Henry. The suspects are unable to account for their movements at the time of the murder.
Yawn.
